Handcrafted From Start to Finish
These tables are formed and poured at my warehouse. I use a special mix that will reach up to 8000# psi and special reinforcement of 1/4 rebar welded on 4" centers. These tables are very tough and durable, very tough.
I use different dyes and stains and microtoppings to get the effects I want. I use poly-urea as a topcoat for outside use tables and epoxy for inside use. Both toppings are very durable and clean with just water and a cotton cloth.
I also sand and buff each table to give it a smooth marble like feel.
For the art work I send a picture of the insignia to an artist in Arizona and she makes me an outline that I acid etch into the concrete and then start the coloring with concrete stains. It is a time consuming process and requires a patience I never before in my life time have experienced.
There is no normal on size or shape. I have made 42" x 8' tables and 18" diameter pieces.
I have found that a 33-34" table makes a very nice size that can be handled easily by two people or one if you get mad enough. (4 Marines should be able to handle one, maybe) Normally I make the table with base about 30" tall as that is the size of a kitchen or dining room table. Of course these tables make nice coffee tables also. They also make a nice center island in a kitchen. What ever or where ever you like they can be used and they are made to be used.
Like I said I do it all and enjoy doing it all. Each table is a new experience and gives me a kinship for what I am doing and for who I am doing the table for. A nice situation.
(of course I was kidding about the Marines, I think 3 could actually handle one)
